Alki Beach Real Estate

I was lucky to grow up at Alki when the avenue was lined with mostly old beach cabins and just a couple apartment buildings. My parents bought a tri-plex across the street from the beach in the 1970’s that my Dad still owns today. Not a month goes by that he doesn’t get at least a couple letters from investors wanting to buy the place. He’s not interested in selling. He provides 3 fairly priced rental units for his long term tenants who get to enjoy some of the Northwest’s best views. The fabric of Alki has changed but the allure of living at the beach is exactly the same!

A NEW SOLUTION FOR YOUR OLD PAINT

The Paint Stewardship Program, PaintCare, launched in April this year. They coordinate the recycling of latex and oil based paints, stains, shellacs, sealers, coatings, and more by providing drop off sites at paint shops all over King County.  Locally, both Miller Paint and Sherwin-Williams in Burien participate in this program.

I just helped one of my sellers dispose of his old paint. It was easy and convenient. Best of all, I know it’s not going into the drain or landfill. This recycling service is great for when you are moving, renovating, or if you have a few old cans just sitting around in your garage. For more information on the paint products accepted or to find a drop-off location near you, visit www.paintcare.org.

Helping my clients with their chemical recycling isn’t in the official job description as a broker, but it’s one of the many ways I serve my clients as the need arises. When you need someone to cover the details, reach out!

YEAR-TO-DATE MARKET DEMAND

What is Driving the Voracious Demand in the PNW?

NATIONAL HOUSING SHORTAGE means low inventory across all markets.

HISTORICALLY LOW INTEREST RATES pressures buyers to lock in their mortgages NOW!

BUYERS COMPETING WITH EACH OTHER by offering over list price.

POST COVID cabin fever.

INCREASED LUMBER PRICES = Higher building and renovation costs!

The Secret Is Out!

With buyers moving out of the city in search of more space and lower prices, South King County has become a HOT spot. The cities of Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac and Tukwila have seen an influx of new home buyers who are enjoying the parks and beaches along with the easy access to freeways, the airport and downtown Seattle.

Normandy Park Market Activity

The Normandy Park real estate market is following the regional trend where homes are listed one day and quite literally SOLD the next. Every May we begin to see an uptick in the number of houses coming on the market but with the large backlog of buyers we expect sale activity to remain strong all summer! Below are the latest stats for Normandy Park residential real estate. Reach out if you have questions!
